from the microsoft website it looks like IE8 is basically loaded up with extra features like download accelerators and secure web browsing (like the phishing system that IE7 has). From the looks of it I would still suggest Firefox over IE8 because generally speaking when microsoft comes out with a new product like this, basically the same product with addons, it really isn't much better and is generally worse.

I have been using firefox and it seems to use up a lot of resources. It laggs quite frequently and crashes unexpectedly. I think I am going to stick with Ie8 for now. I wish I knew which browser was the best so I could use it.

Firefox doesn't lagg at all for me. Google Chrome is another good web browser. Very fast.

Google Chrome sucks. I used it today for about 15mins. I would try and load up yahoo and it said there was an error on the site. It also said this on numerous other sites. I would either have to refresh the page, or resart chrome.

Jdub I have used google chrome and firefox since they came out and have never had lag issues crashes or loading problems. I think you are having problems because of the interaction the browser has with your computer system. Otherwise you must be doing something to make it do that cause I've never had any issues.

I have had problems with Firefox on other computers as well. it sometimes crashes and takes a while to load. I am pretty sure that FF uses the most resources and mem.

Firefox does have a few problems with memory leaking, but it is really easy to fix, just close all firefox windows and plugins, then restart. Leaving applications to run long times (such as flash games or JavaScript web pages) can cause this problem (so ive found, going off personal experience here). Firefox has great security procedures in place that are hidden deep within the program. I could go on and on about the benefits about Firefox over IEx (where x equals any version of IE). Just stick with firefox and everything will be AOK
