this is a really great anime. The storyline is basically a jiant uprising on one of japan's islands created this separated region named the lost land and people that are born here are born with a special gift known as an altar. This gift basically allows them to take material from the surrounding area and mold it into something like a big robot or a vehicle. The thing changes depending on the person.

There are two main characters which are ryoho and kazuma. These two basically fight each other almost all the way through the anime except for a few episodes near the end where they kinda team up. Then at the end they have one final huge battle to see who is the best.

This is now one of my favorites. Thanks Jaryung for telling me to buy it

Don't mean to necro an old topic but;

I watched this show whne they showed it on Adult Swim a few years back and loved it. It was a little slow getting started but man it was amazing at the end, I loved it mainly for the alter powers, especially the two "ultimate form" ones in the final episodes.

yeah the final forms were awesome I bought the collector's edition box set and the dvds have the forms on them XD it's awesome

The ultimate battle was epic, you rarely see the main characters actually get so beat up that they have like swollen eyes and everything Lol then they like limp to eachother XD
