New idea. Do put a download page on the main page: http://www.allblizz.com and make it for to download you must join the forums. This will increase our traffic, by people looking for downloads to the game and such, thus joining the forums (some may become active members, others may just leave, which is a downside.) But to get around the face they may just leave, make it where you must have ooohhh...30 some posts to download. Problem solved.

Also can we have a downloads forum, so that we may link them to the downloads section. This will make everything organized, and make it easier to find files. Also there is no WoW download category. There is a Warcraft but no WoW.

I would like to see maybe a tutorials section on certain Starcraft related topics, especially map making and other applications. As the onset of Starcraft 2 approaches, you can be sure there will be many people looking to learn to make maps in the new editor amongst other helpful articles.

Yeah, a problem ive seen with the forums layout is that the front end is completely separate from the forums.

I used to have fun with creating ideas for EVERYTHING.

And considering since I'm new here(a "nub" if you may), I could get some pretty crazy ideas for yeh.

You should make the forum link more than just bold. You should make it bigger!
Maybe even some buttons for navigation or something.
Later on, you could make some framesets for the main part. ^_^

Yeah, as I was writing a post-it note to the "admin" ( I realized that it was simple. That's wicked awesome.
To make people feel more welcome, or even casual, you can put maybe some assurance. People LOVE assurance.


AS FOR THE FORUMS.
Damnit, man! It was so hard for me to find the Options or Settings.
Lol, I've never had such a hard time trying to figure out how to change my avatar. o.o
My best suggestion to you is to probably make an options tab, or even something to redirect to the settings. I say this because then its "Noob Friendly"

I love the idea of the shoutbox.
Alot of forums use it.
If you wanted, you could make it detachable, resizable, and make it refresh itself too.
That way, the person could see these things anytime.
Oh, and also.. You might want to consider putting in a filter option for the shoutbox. This way people can filter out say, for example, the high scores, some enemies(god i hope that doesnt happen) and it would be a wicked idea.

Something I also saw which was a wicked idea if you might like it is the rep system.
I dun know if you know what I'm talking about, but basically, if someone with seniority loves what someone did, they can "+ rep" them one point, in which can accumulate up to BIIG numbers.
I kinda noticed that the blizz bucks might be in conflict with it because of how there would be so many numbers to remember, like posts, bucks, diggs/reps.
It's your choice.

But yeah, if you like the ideas, I can always post more.

I hope i get all this right... but for as some of the simple aspects me and Czaries (the other admin) are planning on revamping the entire theme. I know it seems a little vBulletin generic (cause we just changed the color scheme) but we are going to make it more blizzard-esk later on.

Shout box
Those are all very good ideas for the shout box. As of right now the whole shout box idea is a "plugin" that someone else wrote and as I've seen is quite buggy. I'm finishing up a script sometime this weekend and then ill have more time to dedicate to this site as for programming. The chat-box does refresh on its own (every 5 seconds); as for the filters that's a very good idea and i will certainly add it to my list ^^ My apologies for the spamming of the "new arcade champ" that was lazy programming on my part, but ill defiantly get down to re-doing that as well.

Forums
Just a side note here you can post as much as you want as long as its relevant I mentioned above that we will be doing a new theme (something to match the front end). My final goal would be to have 4 themes... One for Blizzard General... One for Starcraft... One for Diablo... and another for Warcraft... We of course will only start off with one (The Blizzard General) but as time progress' we will create the others (or at least i will). The major hold back on that is the lack of a graphics artist xD If you check out AllBlizz.com (the member) you can see that his rep is off the charts

I know we have the shout box but do you think that we could have a real time chat? I have noticed that the shout box sometimes don't refresh on its own. Maybe you put a link that goes to a room where we all can chat. Of course you could still keep the shoutbox so we will know about new posts and arcade things.

EDIT: You could also put it where after 10mins of inactivity on the chat it logs you out.

I don't think there's a need for another chat aside from the shoutbox for a community as small as ours. The chat would probably be used even less than the shoutbox, and would usually end up empty.
